Claudio Martini, President of the Region, and Vincenzo Ceccarelli, President of the Province of Arezzo, attended the presentation of Mabo Smarthouse this morning in the Castle of the Guidi's Counts of Poppi (AR). Smarthouse has an energy efficiency class "A". Mabo set up it, after 2 years of researches carried out with the Energy Department of the University of Florence. The Mabo Group, which invested more than 1,5 millions of euro in this project, built a dwelling able to use 25 kWh/m²/year on the average with an annual expenditure for energy consumptions of about 600 euro, against about 1.900 euro of a classic building, built between 1995 and 2005. The first Smarthouse, realized just in front of the gorgeous castle of Poppi, has an airy wood roof - where the solar cell panels are perfectly integrated -, is an high-technology house, and is predisposed for home automation. "It is an excellence in Tuscany - the President of the Region said - tackling the energy saving problem seriously, instead of paying attention on the energy sources only". The President of the Province holds the same opinion. "I think the choice of Mabo of investing in research and innovation for energy saving - said Ceccarelli - harmonizes with the aims the Province has indicated for quite a time. If all the houses built in Italy are realized with this technology we can have an energy saving of 80% of the household energy". This house, partially precast, is set up in about two months, with outside finish in the style the owner wants. In the most sunny places it can reach the standard of passivhaus, in other words it can be energetically self-sufficient. "In a short time, in accordance with the new law in force - Roberto Falsini , President of Mabo Group, said - every building will have an identity card, like an user and maintenance manual describing all its energetic features and performances. This is a real revolution for the builders and the building owners. This process will affect heavily the increase in value of the buildings. Mabo Group takes part to this ecologic challenge in advance." Smarthouse is the first Italian cousin of the famous model of low energy consumption house, very widespread in the countries of Northern Europe: Holland, Denmark and England. Among the companies realizing the Mabo Smathouse, there are also the Mazzanti Group for the mechanical and plant engineering, the Benini Group for fixtures, Sofem (Unieco Group) for the roof and Berloni for the indoor furniture. The typical features of the houses in a Mediterranean style are not wasted at all thanks to gorgeous mixture of top quality materials. Smarthouse produced by Mabo has been designed in order to have inside large spaces so the buyer can customize both the inside and outside furniture. The offered solutions are a dozen in all, with six typologies : two one-family houses of 184 and 137 m², a two-families house, two types of linkedhouse (row or staggered) and a multiple story building. For every one of these typologies you can choose four solutions: "Skin", only the energy saving shell, "311", the energy saving house (without any class), the "class A house", (without any photovoltaic and solar power systems) and finally "Smartskin", equipped with the technological solutions proposed. Some drawing offices are working in some projects arising from the Smartskin. They give different interpretations of the "smart shell" set up by Mabo Group. All these proposals will be available on the website www.smarthousemabo.it very soon.
