After having acquired the control of the Milanese Seralwall - giant in curtain wall sector - and started the Airbeton project, in partnership with Unieco, MaboGroup acquired the control of 50% of the Spanish Tecnyconta capital, one of the reference companies in precast buildings sector, in the Iberian Peninsula, as well as of the subsidiaries Contamar and Comesa. This operation has a value of 30 million euro. With a turnover of over 70 million euro - and a market share of 2,4% - Tecnyconta works in a sector which has good development capacity in Spain, even if it is characterized by a technological evolution level lower than that of the Italian companies working at the same level. Because of this delay Mabo Group decided to bet on this market, especially in the surrounding district of Madrid, Barcelona and Basque Country. A large territory, contained within a 350 km radius as to the Tecnyconta's Headquarters, located near Zaragoza, in a surface of 185.000 square meters. The operation started at the end of 2007, when Mabo became a member in almost total discretion. First Mabo purchased 5% of the Spanish company. Now the project has been carried out with the establishment of a new company, Tecnymabo, where Mabo Prefabbricati SpA holds 50%. Tecnymabo controls 100% of Tecnyconta. The other 50% of the Spanish company belongs to the old shareholders. Nowadays Tecnymabo is managed by a group of Italian and Spanish managers. Mabo Group aims to develop de production capacities, also through the transfer of technological know-how from Italy to Spain. The Spanish structure goes on playing an important part in the commercial and administration management of the company.
